Mighty Meal Challenge

Good morning everyone.  We will not be having a Zoom meeting today, due to you having one yesterday.  If you do feel like a chat, even just to tell me something you have been up to or to ask a question please feel free to contact me today via my email glenda@tinwald.school.nz. I love hearing from you.
Today's activity is a wee challenge that might even help out the people in your family.  As always you can decide if you do this, and if you do it in full or just part, but I would love to see you try at least some and send me the results.

THE CHALLENGE
You are to design a delicious meal for the people in your immediate bubble.  It is to be a balanced main meal that has vegetables, protein (meat, dairy, eggs or vegetarian option) and some sort of carbohydrate (potato, pasta, rice etc).  It might be an all in one meal with the vegetables mixed in eg hidden grated carrot in spaghetti bolognese, or a meal with meat, salad and potato...it is up to you.  (Try to use food you already have at home)
You can present the meal as a drawing or photo of your meal on a plate with the food labelled on it, or restaurant style menu with a list of ingredients in description eg a delicious bowl of delicate spaghetti with a rich sauce full of tomato, carrots, onion and spinach. or try any other interesting ideas you have.   You can look up Google or recipe books for ideas, ask a clever cook at your house or even ring someone you know who makes delicious meals. It would be great if you could copy out and share the recipe too.
I will be looking for these things: a delicious 'balanced' meal (that you like), creative presentation, clear recipe instructions, and if you are writing it on a 'menu' descriptive language to make it seem amazing!!
EXTENSION:  You can plan a whole day's worth of meals.
Once done you could share it with me on Seesaw or by email, I would love to share some of them next Thursday via Zoom.  I would suggest you try to do this today, but if that is not possible you have until next Wednesday.  Optional: If any of you are great cooks how about offering to help cook this meal and CLEAN UP THE DISHES!!! :-)
Hope you all have a wonderful day, and be kind to the others at home with you.

Wednesday 22nd of April was Earth Day. Read about it at https://www.natgeokids.com/nz/kids-club/cool-kids/general-kids-club/earth-day/
and write an Earth Day haiku poem using the activity I have assigned to you on Seesaw.

Remember haiku poems have 3 lines. The first and third lines each have 5 syllables. The second line has 7 syllables. Haiku poems do not usually rhyme. I hope you enjoy writing your haiku.

Good morning.  I am looking forward to seeing you all at 10am this morning.  We might even try to have a wee game and try using breakout rooms.  We will see how that goes (as you know I am not always friends with technology). Today Miss Tomkinson would like you to continue with your ANZAC work and I have a brain teaser for you to try. Please forward your answers to me at glenda@tinwald.school.nz or on Seesaw.
